Chapter 50 – What’s your personal style? If you don’t know, ask your PA. Prepare to be deflated by the response, so work on developing the persona of the Commander-In-Chief, who exudes confidence and trust. Never ever give up on this.
My style is “??????“
“Wi wei er wu bu wei.” Do nothing, but nothing is left undone.
The Chinese description is best explained in a poem:
“The Sage is occupied with the unspoken
and acts without effort.
Teaching without verbosity,
producing without possessing,
creating without regard to result,
the Sage has nothing to lose.”
To me, this equates to accomplishment without effort; making everything look so easy.
This is my ‘way’ to inspire and lead. Decisions and actions appear to flow without effort. I conceal disappointments and fix errors, so only the good results are visible. This defines me.
Find your style and develop it. There are many pairs of eyes looking up, with their gaze fixed on you, searching for a mentor and someone to hold up as example to their kids. Become that person.
