Only two in ten readers of The Cape Messenger believe that President Jacob Zuma will continue to be the teflon president – nothing sticks to him. Asked in our poll whether he would survive the February the 22nd vote of no-confidence, 20 percent said he would.
A total of 80 percent of our readers say that he will not survive a no-confidence vote.
It, however, remains unclear whether the vote will occur on February the 22nd, as the Economic Freedom Fighters – which asked for the vote – want it to happen this week. The African National Congress, too, now look set to seek a vote of no confidence.
The Speaker of the national Assembly Baleka Mbete was given until today, Tuesday, to make a decision on whether the vote would be brought forward.
The poll read:
Will Jacob Zuma survive a vote of no confidence on February 22?
- No (80%)
- Yes (20%)
